The Tuhfa e Ramadan project, also known as the Ramadan Ration Program, provides essential dry food commodities to allow families to prepare their own nutritious meals throughout the entire month of Ramadan. Unlike the cooked meal service, this initiative offers a complete food basket to support long-term household food security.

Massive Scale, Individual Impact:

  • 1.65 Million Beneficiaries: This is one of Baitussalam’s largest annual food drives, reaching a staggering 1,650,000 individuals with comprehensive ration packages.
  • Combating Food Insecurity: The packages are designed to cover the nutritional needs of a family unit for the full 30 days of fasting, mitigating the effects of poverty and inflation on vulnerable households.
  • Dignity in Giving: By providing raw, essential goods, the project upholds the dignity of recipients, allowing them to cook and eat their meals in the privacy of their homes.

    Package Contents (Typical Ration Components):

While exact contents may vary based on donor funds, a typical package includes staples essential for South Asian cooking:

  • Flour (Atta): The primary staple for bread (Roti).
  • Cooking Oil/Ghee: Essential for preparing Iftar and Sehri dishes.
  • Rice: A core source of carbohydrates.
  • Lentils/Pulses (Daal): High-protein, affordable sources of nutrition.
  • Sugar & Tea: Basics for beverages during Sehr and Iftar.
  • Dates: The traditional and Sunnah item for breaking the fast.


Year-Round Food Security Strategy:
